San Francisco, CA Soft Story

A building in the Nob Hill district of San Francisco, was built right after the Great Quake, long before most of the lessons from that catastrophe hed been learned. It needed a lot of work to bring it up to the new “Soft Story” standards.

Agape Construction installed three custom-fabricated steel moment frames, along with new grade beam foundations, and added anchor bolts and new plywood shearwalls to strengthen the building and give it a long life.

All of the work was done without any of the existing tenants having to move out – although they did need to park somewhere else for a few weeks.
